A deeply restorative, beautifully immersive week in the Tuscan countryside, designed to stay with you long after you come home.
What if six days here changed everything that came after them?
What Awaits You in Tuscany
It feels fitting that the Renaissance was born here.
The word itself means rebirth.
Because the most extraordinary travel asks something more of us than simply going somewhere beautiful.
It invites us to immerse ourselves in a place.
To taste its food.
Walk its streets.
Learn its traditions.
Sit at its tables.
Let its pace become ours for a little while.
Itinerary
-
Tuscany begins.
Head to the airport that evening for your overnight flight to Italy.
Tonight, you fall asleep somewhere over the Atlantic.
Tomorrow, you’ll wake up in Tuscany.
-
You’re here!
After a long journey, a private driver will be waiting to bring you to the villa.Settle into your room.
Pour a glass of wine and wander the villa grounds as the light begins to soften.
Let your shoulders drop.
Before bed, we'll gather for a toast — to us, to this week, to being here together.
Included: private transfer from Florence airport to our villa and delicious groceries at the villa to make a plate upon arrival with a fully stocked Tuscan kitchen. And wine ;) -
Our first full day begins gently, giving you space to recover from jet lag and settle into the rhythm of Tuscany.
Sleep in. Wander the villa gardens and terraces, follow the historic Via Francigena through the countryside, enjoy the sauna, or sit beside the pool. The morning is yours.
Our afternoon begins in Monteriggioni, a tiny walled village crowned by fourteen stone towers so striking that Dante wrote them into his Inferno.
Later, we'll continue to a private medieval castle, where its owner welcomes us personally. After a tour of the grounds, we'll gather fresh vegetables from her garden and cook her family's heirloom recipes together. Then we'll sit down to dinner in the castle hall, set with family heirloom dishware and paired with Super Tuscan wines.
An unhurried beginning, followed by the kind of afternoon that could only happen in Tuscany.
Included: all meals, private transportation with a stop in Monteriggioni, private castle tour, garden harvest and hands-on cooking class with the castle's owner, private wine tasting, and dinner in the castle hall. -
A Day in Florence
We'll start our day in Florence with lunch and a little time to wander before our private three-hour walking tour with a licensed local guide. They'll bring the city's most iconic sights to life with the stories, history, and hidden details most visitors walk right past, and your tour includes entrance to the Accademia Gallery, home of Michelangelo's David.
Afterward, there's time to browse artisan leather and paper shops, wander the markets, or settle into a café with an espresso or a glass of wine and watch Florence go by. Stay with the group, break away for a little while, or meet back up. You never have to explore Florence alone unless you want to.
At 7:30, we'll gather for dinner at a true local favorite, the kind of restaurant Florentines choose for themselves, not one you'd stumble into on a tourist route. Then it's back to the villa, full, happy, and already talking about what we'd see next time.
This is our longest day of the trip, so wear your most comfortable shoes and bring your energy. It's one you'll be glad you stayed up for.
Included: breakfast at the villa, round-trip transportation, a private three-hour walking tour with a licensed local guide, and entrance to the Accademia Gallery.
Not included: lunch, dinner, shopping, and additional museum admissions. We'll dine together at both, with each guest paying for her own meals.
-
Today begins on a slower note. We'll leave the villa later in the morning, giving you time to sleep in, linger over breakfast, and soak in the memories of Florence.
Late morning, we'll head to Siena, one of Italy's most beautiful medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There's time to linger over lunch in a trattoria, browse for ceramics and local treasures, or find a sunny spot in the piazza and simply take it all in.
In the afternoon, we'll meet our private licensed guide for a two-hour walking tour. From the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, home of the famous Palio horse race, to the striking striped marble of its cathedral, they'll bring centuries of history, rivalry, and art to life.
Then it's back to the villa, where a private chef will cook dinner for us. Nothing to plan and nowhere to be.
Included: breakfast at the villa, round-trip transportation, a private two-hour walking tour with a licensed local guide, and a private chef dinner at the villa.
Not included: lunch and shopping.
-
We'll start the morning in San Gimignano, the hilltop town known as the "Medieval Manhattan" for its stone towers rising above the countryside.
Arriving early, we'll have time to wander its lanes, take in the views, and maybe stop for a scoop of its famous gelato.
From there, we'll be welcomed privately at a local winery for a long lunch and a tasting of Vernaccia, the crisp white wine these hills have produced for centuries.
In the afternoon, we'll stroll through the charming village of Castellina in Chianti before heading back home.
Back at the villa, our pizzaiolo will have the wood-fired oven glowing. As the evening settles in, pizzas come out hot and bubbling, one after another - classic Margherita, seasonal creations, and a dessert pizza to finish.
A relaxed, joyful night together after a beautiful day.
Included: all meals — breakfast at the villa, private transportation for the day, private visit and tasting at a winery, winery lunch, and a private pizza party at the villa. On your own: any shopping you may do.
-
Our driver is with us all day (up to 8 hours).
You can go back to the place that stole your heart this week, explore somewhere new, wander into the town of Colle di Val d'Elsa for lunch and shopping, or stay at the villa and do nothing at all.
We'll decide together as the week unfolds. In the evening, a private chef will prepare a four-course Tuscan dinner in our kitchen, from a rich antipasto and handmade pasta to a traditional main course and dessert, served at our table with the Tuscan hills fading into night.
A beautiful way to celebrate the week and the women we've shared it with.Included: breakfast at the villa, private transportation for the day, and a private chef's four-course dinner at the villa.
On your own: lunch and any shopping you choose to do.
-
One last slow morning at the villa, one last look across the Tuscan hills before we say goodbye.
We’ll travel together to Florence Airport, carrying home the stories, the laughter, and a little of the life we lived here, the kind that stays with you long after you’ve left.
Included: private group transfer to Florence Airport.
Our departure time will be set once flights are booked, so please share your flight details with us as soon as you have them.
Traveling is unpredictable. Our itinerary and accommodation are subject to change based on circumstances that may arise. Flexibility is essential on an adventure like this. Comparable substitutions may be made as needed.

At the Table..
Food in Tuscany is a love letter to the land.
Handmade pasta. Warm, crusty bread. Peppery olive oil pressed from nearby groves. Pecorino. Truffles. Burrata. Slow-cooked sauces. Local wine. Long lunches that somehow stretch into the afternoon.
About Your Retreat Host
Hi! I’m Katie. I’m a therapist, a recovering perfectionist, and someone who is still learning that some of the best parts of life happen when we stop trying to do everything perfectly. I’m also a passionate, albeit unhinged, Chicago Bears fan and the world needs to know.
I love beautiful places, meaningful experiences, incredible food, good wine, deep conversation, and the kind of moments that make you stop and think..
I want to remember this.
That is a big part of why I created Sunbeam Hollow.
I want to create experiences that feel special from the moment you arrive. Thoughtful without being overly structured.
I care a lot about the details. I care that you know what to expect before we leave, that you feel comfortable arriving even if you come alone, that the meals feel special, that the itinerary gives you extraordinary things to experience without filling every available minute.
I want you to feel welcomed. Considered. Included. Cared for.
I want you to know that someone has thought about the little things before you ever had to.
My hope is that from the moment you say yes to Tuscany, you feel like someone is thinking about how this experience will feel for you.
Because I am.
